I love the way the white glaze creates this foamy-like texture when crossed over the Amaco celadon glazes. Amaco celadon glazes are sensitive to thickness. If I hand poured the glaze and caused different thicknesses, you would see light and dark regions that showed the poured layers. That could be a fun texture, but for this vase I wanted to have a fairly homogenous look to the celadon iron glaze. So, I decided to spray the glaze on while slowly turning the vase on a banding wheel. Rule of thumb I go with for glaze thickness is that it should be finger nail thick. After the celadon glaze dried a few seconds, I used a paint brush to splash white glaze.
