This piece was fired in mid fire temperature (~2200F) but using a high fire glaze. The temperature of a kiln for high fire is ~2400F. When high fire glazes are fired at lower temperatures, they don't fully glassify, which can create different textures in the glaze. Copper red typically is a transparent aqua color in oxidation high fire. I used masking tape of different thicknesses to create the non-glazed pattern.
