This vase was initially fired in oxidation by dipping it from the bottom 2/3 in matte white and then the top 1/3 with sea green. I wasn't loving the initial result which you see in the top left photo. I personally didn't like how flat the colors felt.
So, I dipped the top in rutile pink past the sea green glaze line and re-fired it in reduction. The final result has more texture and dynamic changes in color that I'm digging more than the original.
