ABOUT vase 71

It's not obvious from the photos, but this vase took a lot of work. I had lost a bit of control when pulling the clay up to this height and it almost collapsed. Using a torch to strengthen the clay, I spent maybe an entire hour getting the vase back to centered. Then I spent another hour collaring to bring in the neck and flare out the top. I had to torch every now and then while working on the upper third of this piece because the clay was getting too wet. In the end, I'm really glad I spent so much effort because I love the shape of this vase.
