Matte turquoise creates a teal color in oxidation and bruise purple in reduction. I placed this vase on the reduction shelves to get the purple result, but it came out teal which means the inside may have experienced oxidation rather than reduction. Getting a mixture of oxidation and reduction effects in oxidation or reduction firing is a common result in the high fire kiln, a part of embracing the surprises of high fire!
